Spongebob is not a very complex character. But, he does have complex emotions, or maybe he’s just emotional. Though most of the time he is very joyous, if not, few people would want to watch a show about a grumpy sea sponge. 
First, lets list some back ground info on Spongebob. Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? Spongebob Squarepants! (part of the theme song.) He lives in his pineapple with Gary his snail, who meows like a cat. His neighbors are Squidward and Patrick. He works at the Krusty Krab as the frycook, and he loves Krabby Pattys. He is very good at catching jellyfish (with a butterfly net.) Spongebob always wears his brown suit with his red tie and black shoes.
