Hello readers,
I am a new blogger, in fact this is my first ever blog. It is all very new and confusing so please bare with me. First and foremost, let me give you some background info on myself. I watched Spongebob as long as I can remember. Though, it was first aired in 1999, and I was born in 1995, so I had a bleak first four years. I have many hobbies including water polo and reading and of course watching Spongebob! Spongebob is a favorite passtime of mine. Who doesn’t love to plunk down in front of the TV and watch a few episodes after a hard day at school.
In my blog, I will be writing all about Spongebob, Squarepants that is. If you have no idea at all who this mysterious sponge is tune in to channel 53 or Nickelodeon and watch a few episodes of the children’s show. There was also a Spongebob Squarepants movie that was in theaters and is now on DVD. Spongebob Squarepants is a sea sponge who lives in a pineapple in Bikini Bottom. Spongebob has a pet sea snail named Gary, who meows. Spongebob works at the Krusty Krab where he grills the infamous Krabby Pattys- delicous hamburgers. His boss is Mr. Krabs a greedy, fat crab. Mr. Krabs has a daughter named Pearl who is a whale. The cashier at the Krusty Krab and also Spongebobs neighbor is Squidward Tentacles. He is a squid who is grumpy and plays the clarinet. He lives in what appears to be a giant tiki head made of stone. Spongebob’s best friend is Patrick Star, a chubby pink star fish who lives under rock. Another friend of his is Sandy, a Texan squirrel. Sandy is a very smart scientist. She lives in a dome on the ocean floor full of air. When she leaves her dome, she always wears a underwater space suit with a helmet of air. When Spongebob visits Sandy he must wear a helmet full of water. Some minor characters are Larry the Lobster and Mrs. Puff his driving school teacher. Spongebob has never graduated driving school, so he gets around by foot. Some of Spongebobs signature catch phrases include, “I’m ready!” and “Tartar sauce!” Spongebob is always happy and buoyant. He loves blowing bubbles and catching jellyfish.
What I think is important and special about Spongebob is that he enjoys the little things and he is happy. And it is fun to sit back, relax and enjoy some Spongebob. It is a simple show that kids and some really cool adults enjoy. There is usually some problem in each episode, but Spongebob always resolves it in the end. He is intelligent, sort of, and he always worries about other people and their feelings. He could be a role model, in some aspects, to children watching.
In my blog, I don’t want to be too specific. I would like to write about Spongebob, everything about Spongebob, and maybe about similar shows in comparison (Spongebob would always win!) And maybe also about some current events in relation to Spongebob and Nickelodeon. I just want to keep things fresh. I would love comments and suggestions.
